Types of Manuscripts
Frontiers welcomes original research articles that analyze topics or issues in the field of study abroad by utilizing a fresh and thought-provoking approach. Essays, book reviews, and updates of particular themes or topics are also welcome. Frontiers is particularly interested in the intellectual development of students in an international and intercultural context, and welcomes research and writing that focuses on this theme. Research submitted for publication must be original, and it should not have been published elsewhere.
Manuscript Format
Research articles should be between 5,000 - 10,000 words, double-spaced, and should conform to an accepted style such as APA or MLA. Manuscripts should include a title page indicating the name and contact information of the author/s. A one-page abstract and a short biographical sketch of the author/s should be included.
Manuscripts are requested in MSWord. Please note that Frontiers publishes in black and white: any charts or figures should be in greyscale to be able to be printed legibly. All tables should be formatted separately as individual, stand alone tables; they should not be formatted within the text itself with tabs. Please also note that the Frontiers page size is 6" by 9" and longer tables and figures may need to eb reconfigured to fit within the page size.

Selection Process
A double-blind international peer review process is used in judging all manuscripts for publication. A minimum of three readers review each manuscript. The articles that appear in Frontiers are selected by its editors in consultation with external reviewers. The content should be original and should not have been previously published. Manuscripts are accepted on a rolling basis. Once a volume is filled, manuscripts may be reserved for the next volume. The editorial policies and decisions do not reflect any position of the institutions that sponsor Frontiers.

Deadline
Frontiers publishes an eclectic issue annually, with occasional special volumes adding to that schedule. Manuscripts are considered on a rolling basis; however, the deadline for submission of manuscripts for consideration for any given year is March 1st.
