Manuscript Guidelines

Types of Manuscripts

     Frontiers welcomes original research articles that analyze topics or issues in the field of study abroad by utilizing a fresh and thought-provoking approach. Essays, book reviews, and updates of particular themes or topics are also welcome. Frontiers is particularly interested in the intellectual development of students in an international and intercultural context, and welcomes research and writing that focuses on this theme.

Manuscript Format

     Research articles should be between 5,000 - 10,000 words, typewritten (double-spaced), and should conform to an accepted style such as APA or MLA. Manuscripts should include a title page indicating the name and contact information of the author/s. A one-page abstract and a short biographical sketch of the author/s should be included. Manuscripts are requested on a diskette, labeled by title, and indicating the platform (Mac/PC) and program version (e.g. MS Word 6.1) on which the text was composed. Manuscripts may also be submitted by e-mail.

Selection Process

     A blind review process is used in judging all manuscripts for publication. A minimum of three readers review each manuscript. The articles that appear in Frontiers are selected by its editors in consultation with reviewers. The editorial policies and decisions do not reflect any position of the institutions that sponsor Frontiers .

Deadline

     Frontiers is published annually each Fall. The deadline for submission of manuscripts is March 1st.
